Medical Cannabis: The Vape Debate

The overall need/educational goal is to evaluate and incorporate new knowledge into clinical practice among palliative care and pain management pharmacists. The learning objectives support this goal.
This activity is developed to discuss a new route of administration for medical cannabis as it pertains to its use for pain management.

The disclosure policies of the SIUE School of Pharmacy Office of Continuing Professional Education requires all persons in a position to control content to disclose any relevant financial relationships with commercial interests. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  
The participant must provide the correct NABP ePID number/DOB combination in their electronic profile. All CPE evaluations must be completed within 60 days of completing the activity. It is the participant's responsibility to check that their credit records are correct within the 60 day period after completion of the activity.   Log in to CPE Monitor at to view a list of all ACPE-accredited activities you have taken. Any discrepancies must be resolved with the CPE Provider directly and in a timely manner.


Requirements for CE Credit

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities and complete an online evaluation form before credit is awarded.

Brief Bio : Kelly Mendoza, MS, Pharm.D. PGY2- Pain Management and and Palliative Care Resident Kelly Mendoza is received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona, an MS in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University, and a Pharm.D. from Midwestern University - Glendale. Dr. Mendoza completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Her professional interests include palliative care, hospice, and oncology.
