Journal Club: Medical Marijuana: The Vape Debate

 The overall need/educational goal is to evaluate and incorporate new knowledge into clinical practice among palliative care and pain management pharmacists. The learning objectives support this goal.
This activity is developed to discuss a new route of administration for medical cannabis as it pertains to its use for pain management.

Disclosure Policy
The disclosure policies of the SIUE School of Pharmacy Office of Continuing Professional Education requires all persons in a position to control content to disclose any relevant financial relationships with commercial interests. Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  
The participant must provide the correct NABP ePID number/DOB combination in their electronic profile. All CPE evaluations must be completed within 60 days of completing the activity. It is the participant's responsibility to check that their credit records are correct within the 60 day period after completion of the activity.   Log in to CPE Monitor at to view a list of all ACPE-accredited activities you have taken. Any discrepancies must be resolved with the CPE Provider directly and in a timely manner.


Requirements for CE Credit

To receive CE credit, you must view the entire presentation, complete the test questions with a minimum passing grade of 70%, and complete an evaluation of the activity.
CPE Credits will be submitted and posted to your NABP CPE profile within 2 weeks once you have successfully met these requirements.

Brief Bio : Brittany Johnson, Pharm.D. PGY2- Pain and Palliative Care Resident Brittany Johnson is from Virginia Beach, Virginia and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of North Florida in 2010 and graduated from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2015. Her professional interests include the management of acute on chronic pain, naloxone, and substance abuse disorders. Her resident research this year evaluates the intervention of a clinical pharmacist in the surgical home model and average pain scores reported by patients.
